Our Work
Our Foundation is new but our work in Westmoreland spans decades.
The Westmorelite Foundation, Inc. is new but our commitment to Westmoreland runs deep. Our founders and board members have spent years serving communities across the parish in personal and professional capacities. Individually, we have served on several boards in Westmoreland effecting meaningful change in the framework of the parish, awarded scholarships to students, funded sports programs, mentored youth as they shape their futures, and provided thousands of meals and support to families recovering from Hurricane Melissa in partnership with other relief groups. These efforts form the roots of what we are building, work grounded in community, hope, and action. Now, through the Foundation, we aim to do more. Together.
Current Initiative
Ready to Learn: Preparing Westmoreland’s Children for School
Ready to Learn is a focused Back to School initiative designed to prepare children in Westmoreland with essential school supplies so they can return to school ready to learn, as their families continue to recover and rebuild in the wake of Hurricane Melissa. Through collaboration with trusted local partners, this initiative removes barriers to education and supports children at a critical moment in their academic journey.

We envision a Westmoreland where young people have opportunity, families have support, and communities have the tools to thrive. Our work as a foundation is just beginning but every scholarship, every mentorship, every dream restored, and every Westmorelite encouraged brings us closer to that reality. We are committed to growing deliberately, partnering wisely, and serving boldly.
